I do believe that we have started to see signs that Mother Nature's natural defense protocols are beginning to kick in. Our earth has already experienced two Ice Ages. When the environment started to become too unstable, the system was reset. Already, we known that some insect, plant, and animal populations are struggling to survive. Unfortunately many, if not all, of these species significantly contribute to sustaining life for every living creature in this planet. If they die, life as we know it will shut down. Thus, maybe the Mayans had precognitive knowledge about our future and they could see that there will be a life changing cosmic phenomena in 2012. But also realized that we would need to develop a collective consciousness in order to adapt. It may not be "Armageddon" but it will be the end of life as we currently know it.
