2012 The Movie

Now that ’2012′ plays in most movie theaters across the world, I thought it would be a good time for me to share my own impressions on this blockbuster. To begin with, I must admit that I am not the average viewer as my research and pre-knowledge on the subject is far more extended than most people watching the movie purely as an entertainment item. For the past year I have dedicated most of my time in researching the 2012 subject with all of its existing theories as well as facts and figures, whether governments disclosed these to or withheld them from the general public.

What astonished me the most is that the storyline throughout the movie and in very much detail, aligns entirely with the books from Patrick Geryl. Especially The Orion Prophecy and the World Cataclysm in 2012, but also How To Survive 2012 are beyond any doubt the basis for the movie directed my Roland Emmerich. Latest news on this subject is that Geryl is filing a major lawsuit against the Movie Studio and the Director. I’ll certainly keep you posted as soon as news becomes available.

Back to the movie. Actually the movie in itself is excellent, both from a photography perspective as the well structured storyline. And maybe the best of all is that unexpectedly there are rather little Hollywood cliches used. Much detail has been put into the characters of the individual world leaders, maybe without the exception of the US president (other than the fact that he is also black in this movie). If you know a bit about world politics, you quickly will get what I mean here.

At first I was sceptical about the duration (over 2.5 hours) of the movie, yet unlike some other critics I read before watching the movie, I must say that the length is actually justified as to explain such a complex subject. What may look like just another suspense movie, ’2012′ is actually a historic communication to the masses.

When you read between the lines of the story, you can clearly read what is meant with many of the situations spelled out in more or less clear manner. At one point there is even a clear message to where the safest locaton on Earth will be, which was stated by Geryl early on, namely the Drakens Mountains in South Africa. Not coincidentally this is also where several survival groups are building survival shelters for real.

Unfortunately like with most of the 2012-related topics, the media isn’t going to agree with the possible truth around Geryl’s predictions. We should all bear in mind that the media is the government’s biggest arm of communication. And when you closely watch this movie, you should very well understand why the government has no interest to share all their secretive preparations with the masses.

I’d rate the move 4 out of 5, with one star missing because of the too simply happy ending of the movie. A typical Hollywood end which should make you feel not too depressed when you walk out of the theater. There is also no mention of nuclear facilities melting down which is inevitable when earthquakes, tidal waves and volcano eruptions of this magnitude wipe out everything standing on this planet. This meltdown by itself excludes the presented ‘happy end’ of the movie. Hence that I believe is why it was left out.

Go watch the movie…either for entertainment or to seriously learn something about the subject and how you are being manipulated today!
