A lot has been said about the catastrophe upon us in 2012 and what the likely effects of it will be. But where can we hide to withstand the Polar Reversal, the mega-tsunamis, the solar radiation, nuclear destruction, earthquakes and volcanoes?
We are talking about safe zones on our planet during the Polar Shift at Dec 2012. The third location we are going to look at is United States of America.
The mountains on the West Coast of the US in general will be hot and rugged, with much upheaval, during the shift. The Sierras have been created because of subduction of Pacific plates under the lighter land mass, and these matters are never a gentle process. Snapping, sudden jolts, and bouncing rock stratas reacting to a sudden release of pressure can be expected all along the Sierras. The mountains and valleys have been formed because of crumpling, horizontal pressure, and this will happen again during the forthcoming shift. What happens to rock when it is asked to compress, to fold? It breaks, and moves into the point of least resistance which is upward into the air. Thus, jutting peaks of sheer rock with the rock strata going almost vertical. It crumbles, with a jumble of rock rolling over each other as the mass is pushed upward.
Thus, anyone or anything on top of that spot will be subject to being ground up in the tumbling process. Compressed rock can also drive horizontally, into nearby soil or space not occupied by anything as dense as itself. Thus, those in a valley can find rock shooting out of a hillside, or rock spear shooting under their feet, unexpectedly. Surviving the mountain building process while in the mountains is precarious, and not advised.
As a result of the polar shift, Canada and a large part of the US will be under the pole circle (see images):
Besides this, Yellowstone houses a supervolcano which will erupt and cause massive destruction through lava covering large areas prior to the area being covered under ice.
Nuclear reactors will burst and melt causing a true nuclear Armageddon (see image of nuclear plants that will be affected):
The United States overall has little optimistic outlook since the Earth’s axis in these parts of the world will undergo the biggest shift, resulting in phenomenal earthquakes and volcanic outbursts. So we will encounter a real doomsday scenario here.
However it is possible to survive if you stay at least 100 kilometers from volcanoes at an altitude of at least 3,000 meters.

I could speak volumes, there are a few places which will be safe. These areas will be severely shaken but will pull through and survival in these areas will be 98% to the good. It seems everyone on this site has all the answers. What I know is 100 percent accurate. Good luck to the rest of you.
Barbara, Also doing research on this subject for my daughter and myself. Living in mountains now but hear mixed things…. there is a spiritual group that moved here and has “dug in” with a shelter and believe the area I live is protected and others think we will be ground up between the mountains. It is hared to find several people who believe in the safety of any area.

I have been following all the different opinions and have a few books from Patrick Geryls. There is a book Heribert Illig: The Invented Middle Ages. This man describes, that some nearly 400 years had been added in the 14th/15th century to “correct” the mistakes the old Julianus system made. The Vatican invented 400 years of historical events, which never had taken place. They invented documents and deeds by the hundreds which proved to be falsified and not true. What if we are not in 2011 but say we are in the 17th century? Assuming the Mayans were correct, than we have nearly 400 years to prepare.I am waiting for comments, but not from silly folks who did not even heard of the book.

After reading and getting much info around regarding 2012, not really sure how and where we will end. But for sure big changes are going on in the planet… I got a second citizenship and plan to move on if war starts, almost can go to many places …and again the same question comes up in my mind….is this or that place going to be safe.?.well, can´t tell for sure!!! let´s wait and see what the future holds for Us.

If you have done your research, you already should know the facts. The things that cannot be ignored are the “myths” from the past. They all speak of the same thing happening every what?…4000 years?. Our government prepares and is documented as doing so. Huge, cataclysmic disasters continue to happen at alarming rates. Hell…I’m one earthquake away from taking my family and those that will follow to a place I believe safe…and kill any uniform that stands in my way. After 20 years of study…..nothing has changed, but got worse. Stupid is…as stupid does…….but this stupid person knows “whats up” and how to shoot, survive and take others with him.
There WILL be no easy way out. No true “safe place”. Only chance..luck and the spirit to live. It’s a time…when lambs become kings.

The matter of fact is that during a polar shift the sky collapse.
Earth stops rotation and there will be 3 long nights or days depend where you live. After, the rotation will start in opposite side. But wait. The magnetic field strength goes 0 as earth stops. So they that are under the sun die from radiation. The crust stress creates very strong earth quakes that set up all volcanoes and super volcanoes. Because air moves with earth 700 to 900 MPH, as earth stops wind speeds 400 to 500 MPH are normal. DNA test of HUMANS prove that we all converge in some point around 26000 years before. The reason that humans are very similar is that humanity, continually goes through a bottle neck, and let only thousands to live. If 5000 years ago there were only 250 million humans, then 25000 years ago there were only 2000. And this will go over and over again. The lucky one in governments underground shelters might survive, but they will start over again from the beginning.
I would say that there may be alot of fear mongering occurring on the internet but pole reversal has been proven to happen and when it does happen it happens very fast. proof has been seen in crystals found in solidified rock. the crystals always face north south, however in a pole shift magma heats up and solidifies and thats how we know pole shift has occurred. we have found these crystals pointing in directions other then north and south because presumably they were captured in the hot magma or liquid rock and when it cooled it made a record of what happened at that period in time.
I would say better safe than sorry, now if everyone went ahead and believe what could happen: rather than not happen that would be foolish, its like saying oh” if they said it that cant be true? whos’ they? there is proof the world will shift and is doing it right now as we all speak, what will be Happening in 2012 , is the end results of all the earthquakes sliding land masses an flooding mostly the coasts. Its riseing all that Ocean water is riseing right now, because its still melting, when there is enough heavyness in the pacific north west Ocean the Tanic plates will Emplode, and that will cause a massive tidal wave never before seen with mankinds eyes. People will panic, because it will be sudden, you cannot out run a tidal wave thats 3 miles high” it gathers speed as it gets closer to the coast lineand taller and keeps coming, one after an other, it will be a normal happening, Mother nature is not going to play nice anymore be reasonable, and keep your eyes looking up, you might be surprized, at whats coming..
One of the things, mostly we keep forgetting is there is a truth to all of this, I checked both storys and checked Nasa fema, Gov. groups, and Hairsplitters. Came down to this, no can say this wont happen, period. And no one can say they know all of it, truth be known all we can do is get ready for the earth to flex her fist’s . she ‘s mad and she ‘s been abused, mankind just takes and takes, she always gave even then..Cause and Effect, trust me Somthing will happen it just may be more than what you thought. You cannot expect a reaction unless you put your all in to it your self, most of us have been taught right and some NOT. Be ready for the truth, you may not like it..
Deb: Don’t panic, get depressed, or discouraged. Where there is life there is hope, where there is hope, faith; and with faith patience. Apply yourself to your preps for you and yours. Consider relocating if you live in a large metro area to a smaller town or rural area.
There are lots of strategies for survival. Become informed and apply yourself. Theres plenty of time to prep, but there is NO time to be pessimistic. Make a plan.

Honestly”, Mankind has been heading for some disaster for ever the panic mode, knowing we truely will be in a position on Dec 21 2012, is that how they disapeared? mayans? the water did it, so simple and obveous. ChrisB: In Argentina get on the east side of the Cordillia if you can or make that your bug out location. Chile will take a big hit. Much bigger than it has so far. When the earth tilts in 2015 and not 2012 as some suppose, it will tilt about 30 degrees, or enough to put the Nome Pennisula at the top of the world, facing north. The north polar region on this map above is wrong, as is their intent to save themselves in South Africa. The waters will flow from the southwest to the northeast on all continents. South Africa will be underwater,(implications eventually for gold and platinum) as will the west coasts of North, South, and Central America. Get above 5,000 feet. I’ve been reading about “safe places” although I don’t think any place will be truly safe, some will simply have a better chance than others. I haven’t seen much about South America. We live in Chile and doubt that we would be able to move from here. So far the best we’ve been able to come up with is a relatively small area without any nearby volcanoes so we’re trying to find land as far inland and as high as possible to build a bunker and hunker down for the mother of all roll-a-coaster rides. Is there any other info about relatively safe areas out there about Chile and South America in general?

Please people, see the signs. They are everywhere if you look and do your research. This is NOT a Y2K. It occurs to me the govt set that up, just to disscredit what is now coming down. The govt controls everything. The media, Nasa, scientists EVERYTHING. You cannot look to them for the truth. They KNOW the truth and are franticly hiding it. NM156 is right. You people need to focus your attention on what’s going on now, or you may not even live to see 2012. Also I am pretty positive that international travel will be restricted or impossible in 2012 so you might want to think about going to where you are going to be for 2012 now.

I wouldn’t put to much stock in 12/21/2012, only because many catastophies will happen before to this date and will only increase in frequency and intensity. If the beginning of 2010 is not proof enough with two cities destroyed by quakes and many others devastated by inclimate weather. Then perhaps the number of deaths will open eyes to what is to come. There will be a calmination of many horrible events, it has already begun. There will also be an announcement to all nations that we as intelligant life are not alone on this planet this will happen very soon. The belief that the economy will improove, will soon go up in smoke, world powers will continue to fail in recovery. It will soon be shown that Iran has had nuclear weapons, their ambitions are just a distaction to the truth. It is not about the NWO, it is about a whole new world and perhaps man will be included although changed for the better. just sayin

I don’t know anything about “Nibiru”, but it did show up in the Bible Codes and that blew my mind.
I respect the scientific community but they thought that both Mars and the Moon were “dry” until recently. NASA scientists above all others, ought to be open minded.
Scientists have been studying a “massive magnetic anomoly” in the South Atlantic Ocean. Cayce predicted that location for one of the poles more than 70 years ago.
Some scientists need to keep an open mind. They don’t know everything.
The Bible Codes predict “solar flares” for 2012. Solar flares occur all the time. That the Code specifies 2012 suggests to me that these will be different. The matrix also includes “burn”. “earth”, and “death”.

The Bible Codes predict the Pole Shift / Reversal for 2015, not 2012 as everyone supposes. The North magnetic Pole has already shifted towards Russia. On “average” the Pole Shift occurs every 200,000 years. The last reversal occured approximately 735,000 years ago.
Cayce predicted certain Earth Changes for the present time period more than 70 years ago. His “changes” are quite severe, but seem to be an acceleration and extension of current earth movements that are described and can be located in an atlas at your public library.

How would they prepare billions of people? They wouldn’t… that part and only part of the movie rings true. People that deny it will be among the first to go, learn primitive survival and you might have a chance.

Regarding crustal displacement, I have seen many different maps and heard many different theories on as to where the poles and equator will end up. How does one reach a scenario on this, and isn’t it possible that the shift could be random, making it unpredictable?

There is absolutely NO scientific evidence that anything will happen in 2012. All the talk about pole reversals, magnetic shifts and galactic alignments is utter nonsense. People, please don’t fall for all the lies and fear-mongering that’s going around the internet these days.
